We have been breeding champion Bernese Mountain Dogs for over twenty years and are very proud to have been awarded Breeder of the Year for the Working Group by the American Kennel Club for 2008. You can learn more about this honor here.

CH De-Li's Force of Gravity aka "Newton"

Our big boy CH De-Li's Force of Gravity aka "Newton" ranked #4 in the AKC Breed Standings, based on the final points tally for 2008. He was among the dogs invited to attend the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in Madison Square Garden. Watch a fun video of Newton and Lilian backstage at the show in the Stud Dogs section.

Future Champions - De-Li's Nursery was blessed with a litter of six beautiful puppies (4 males and 2 females) on March 15, 2009. The proud mom is CH De-Li's Magic Potion aka "Stephanie." Stephanie received an Award of Merit at the National Specialty in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in 2005, and she has all her clearances (heart, hips, elbows, eyes and vWD). The beaming dad is Lewa's Old Dan Tucker aka "Danny," who has all his clearances (except hips and elbows due to his age). Once he turns 2 years old he will have his finals. Our Next Litter - De-Li's new batch of little champions are expected in mid-April and the proud mom already looks very uncomfortable. The family will be out of De-Li's Hot Lips aka "Margaret" (all positive clearances) and the indomitable Danny. We will post the birth date and numbers here. Both parents are working on finishing their championships with Danny ahead of the game as he is out now to be shown.

"Daphne" - Our girl Daphne recently exploded out of the show gate - her very FIRST time ever shown and guess what? She won Best of Breed over three lovely champions. We at De-Li's couldn't be more proud of our young prodigy. Daphne is just 2 years old and keeps adding points toward her championship. We're looking forward to reporting her future accomplishments.

Boys to Watch - Keep an eye out for three promising young males who joined our family last November and will no doubt grow up to make us proud. Their call names are Lewis, Clark and Henry, and they're all handsome puppies under 6 months old.

Tilly - Our girl Tilly became a champion recently and is now CH De-Li's Finders Keepers. She will be two years old in April and has successfully passed her heart, eyes and vWD clearances. Soon she'll proceed with her final health clearances before she continues on the De-Li's legend.

National Specialty - The 2009 National Specialty will be held in Portland, Oregon this year. Unfortunately, this means we will not be able to present our dogs. It's too time consuming to drive, and flying is both costly and stressful. We will be attending without dogs this time.

The De-Li Kennel has been in existence for twenty years whereby we, the Ostermiller family, have been owned by over 50 champions, Best in Show dogs, Best in Specialty Show winners in the US as well as Canada, and Therapy Dogs. Many of our offspring in our extended family throughout the country have shown their exceptional ability as working dogs in obedience, agility, tracking & carting. We are proud of our canines and would love to share some of our experiences with folks who wish to learn.

We founded De-Li's in the 1980's, taking our kennel's name from a combination of our own. Over the past twenty years, De-Li's has produced dozens of legendary Berners, including most recently Am/Can Ch. De-Li's Theory of Relativity ("Albert") and son Ch. De-Li's Ideas and Opinions ("Einstein").

Previous national specialty Best in Show winners include Ch. De-Li's Foregone Conclusion and Ch. De-Li's Standing Ovation, who produced 19 champions. Ch. De-Li's Foreign Touch's spectacularly successful offspring included 37 conformation champions and ten obedience champions.
